We’re tracking dark, cool and occasionally damp weather this week in Seattle. 

Persistent showers and cool temperatures will hang on for at least the next seven days in the greater Seattle area.

A homeowner's failed attempt to make s'mores likely sparked this weekend's fast-moving brush fire on Long Island, Suffolk County Police said Monday.

An EF2 tornado touched down in Seminole County, crossing over the FOX 35 News studios in Lake Mary, as fast-moving severe storms pushed across Central Florida on Monday morning.

We’re tracking an incoming cold front Sunday evening which is triggering widespread lowland rain and mountain snow. By Monday morning, there will be far fewer showers. In fact, only spotty sprinkles are possible tomorrow. However, slightly steadier rain could make a comeback by Wednesday. In general, we’re tracking cool, cloudy and damp weather this week. 

There is a weak atmospheric river in the forecast bringing more steady rainfall to the area by this afternoon and into this evening.

Reports of vehicles mysteriously coated in dirt ranged from St. Louis and Missouri, through Illinois and even as far away as Charleston, West Virginia.

An atmospheric river will sag southward into Western Washington, increasing rain chances by the afternoon in the lowlands.  Mountain snow will fall above 3500'. Rain may be moderate to heavy at times, especially near the coastal regions.   Rainfall will slowly taper by the evening except for a convergence zone along the King and Snohomish County line. 

After a few days of glorious sunshine in western Washington, we’re forecasting darker, wetter and cooler weather ahead for the region. Highs will be mild on Saturday afternoon, landing in the mid to upper 50s for Central and South Puget Sound. Isolated showers are possible in these areas with steadier rain near Canada over the Northwest Interior and the North Coast. That’s where an atmospheric river is impacting British Columbia.

After wrapping up a mainly dry work week, weekend rain returns to western Washington on Saturday.

Friday will bring another round of afternoon sunshine and dry conditions, but showers return over the weekend.
