If you are traveling over the passes the next few days, here is a look at the forecast. Snow overnight through early Tuesday, with several new inches for Stevens and Snoqualmie Pass. We will see drier conditions Tuesday and then a mix of rain and snow for Wednesday.

Recent flooding on the Cedar River has pushed a massive amount of logs and silt into south Lake Washington, creating a debris field hundreds of feet wide. While community volunteers have begun cleanup efforts at the Renton Rowing Center, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers says the sheer volume of material will take time to clear.

RIVER FLOODING THREATS LOWERS IN SHORT-TERMAs of noon Sunday, three river Flood Warnings were still posted — one for the Skokomish River at Potlatch, another for the Chehalis River at Porter in Grays Harbor County and another for the White River in south King and north Pierce Counties. All warnings were posted for the potential of minor flooding.

Gov. Bob Ferguson said the risk of river flooding has eased for now but could increase again by late December as another atmospheric river threatens Washington. The state has mobilized National Guard members, added swift-water rescue teams and created a levee breach strike team, while local leaders urge residents in flood-prone areas to stay alert and report signs of levee damage.

Rounds of mountain snow continue through the weekend.  In the last 48 hours, the Cascades have picked up about a foot of snow.  Another 6-12" is expected as we continue to rebuild the snowpack that washed away last week.
