Soak up our mild, warm sunshine this weekend! Blazing hot temperatures return…just in time for the Fourth of July.

King County reporting alarming number of drownings halfway through the year

Startling statistics released by King County show at least 12 people have drowned this season so far. That is nearly double the number from 2018, and it's not even July yet.

This weekend we'll hang near or slightly above average. A system passing to the north of us, in British Columbia, pushes a few more high clouds into Western WA. This will keep temperatures from pushing into the 80s.

A few early clouds to sunshine Friday with a high of 78. Less clouds cover this weekend with highs in the mid to upper 70s.

Western Washington will be under mostly sunny skies Thursday with temperatures warming close to 80 degrees.

A ridge of high pressure will take over on Saturday through early next week. This will keep morning clouds away and send temps into the 80s by early next work week.

The Fourth of July forecast calls for sunny skies and highs around 86 degrees.

Two year anniversary of Seattle's hottest day on record

Wednesday marks the two year anniversary of Seattle's hottest day on record. On the afternoon of June 28, 2021, temps soared at Sea-Tac to an all time record of 108 degrees.

Fire near Wenatchee downgraded to a Level 1 evacuation

A Level 1 or "stay alert" evacuation order has been issued for an area near Wenatchee due to the Methow Fire. This was downgraded from a Level 2 that was issued earlier in the day.
