Wildfire smoke will push into Western Washington this week as temperatures climb around the Puget Sound area.

After Saturday's "Particularly Dangerous Situation" with critical fire risk in Central and Eastern Washington, the high winds will subside today. Fire danger is forecast to remain elevated to high as the hot, dry conditions will persist into the coming days. 

A cold front that moved into Washington Saturday brought breezy and windy conditions with it, increasing the danger of wildfires burning in the state.  

A weak front will move through the region Saturday. Gusty winds, nearing 50mph associated with the front, will lead to critical fire danger in areas east of the Cascades.

The clouds move in tonight in western Washington. Along with it, a cold front that will bring cooler temps, rain and breezy conditions and the possibility of thunderstorms Saturday.

Warm temperatures and sunshine are expected across the region Friday, ahead of cooler, breezy conditions and potential showers over the weekend, according to local forecasts.

After a mild few days this week, sunshine and warmer temperatures are in the forecast for Friday.

Sunshine and warm temperatures return to end the work week, but cooler weather and a chance of showers are on tap for Seafair weekend.

Seattle has seen measurable rainfall only five times on July 29 in the past 80 years. Today was no different.

Highs on Wednesday will be in the mid to upper 70s with afternoon sunshine.
