In the wake of the arctic blast, conditions are slowly improving around Wester Washington.  It will still remain breezy and cold overnight, but the High Wind Warning and the Wind Chill Advisory have both been allowed to expire.  A few locations may see gusts near 35mph. 

Firefighters are hitting the streets this weekend in their signature red bus in order to provide outreach to people experiencing homelessness. 

We've called for yet another “Weather Alert Day" as frozen temperatures grip Western Washington. Powerful winds in the east Puget Sound lowlands (e.g. Monroe and North Bend) could lead to tree damage and power outages - not to mention brutal wind chills.

Crews worked for hours to restore power to thousands of people in Seattle after a wire went down Saturday morning.

We have been tracking two major weather factors: wind and chilly temperatures. If you drive east from the Seattle area towards North Bend, you'll encounter both, thanks to the Cascade Gap.

Record-breaking cold temperatures continue to spread across western Washington. The frigid lows are here to stay for the next several days.

Much of Western Washington has now been below freezing for more than 24 hours.  A new record low was set in Bellingham this morning as temperatures plunged to 3 degrees, beating the old record by 1 degree set back in 1950.  Many other spots saw record low maximum temperatures today.

As temperatures plummeted Thursday, frustration grew amongst drivers heading up Stevens Pass. 

Extremely cold temperatures will stick around through the weekend with overnight lows in the teens and daytime highs in the mid 20s.
