After waking up to patches of clouds this morning, bright beautiful sunshine is forecast for the rest of the day today. Highs will reach the upper 60s for many backyards.

The calendar says summer begins June 20 with the summer solstice, but "meteorological" or "climatological" summer starts three weeks earlier.

Light rain fell over much of Western Washington this morning and the cold front swept through the area.  Most areas saw close to 2-tenths of an inch of rain early this morning. Unfortunately, many spots east of the Cascades missed out on the rain and conditions there were dry with very gusty winds near the current wildfires. 

After a glorious day on Friday with highs in the upper 70s to the low 80s around Central and South Puget Sound, we're tracking cooler and slightly wetter weather on Saturday in Seattle. 

After light showers and breezy winds on Saturday, skies will dry out, and the afternoons will remain mild through next week.

Friday is looking warmer and sunnier compared to Thursday, but showers stage a comeback in the Seattle area on Saturday afternoon.

A high pressure ridge once again rebuilds tonight with sunshine and summer-like warmth back on Friday.

Wednesday's warm weather is nowhere in sight today, replaced by showers and cool temperatures. So, when will it be warm in Seattle again?

Tropical Storm Alvin formed in the Eastern Pacific south of Mexico on Thursday, becoming the first named storm of the 2025 hurricane season.

A landslide near Blatten, Switzerland submerged an entire village in the Swiss Alps, leaving most of the homes and buildings under a mass of brown sludge.
