Below average rainfall in June and for the start of July has drought conditions are worsening.  However, the climate prediction center is forecasting slightly above rainfall possibilities for this week.  Rainfall will be very light and spotty in some spots. 

After experiencing highs in the mid-90s on Wednesday, we're tracking significantly more comfortable temperatures this weekend. 

Temperatures will still be cooler than average for the weekend, with highs on Saturday in the mid to low 70s.

The sun is setting earlier and earlier now, following the June solstice. Now that we've seen our last 9 p.m. sunset, we map out the next sunset milestones coming up.

After a very hot week, Friday and the weekend will bring more clouds and cooler temperatures to Western Washington.

Highs will be in the mid to upper 70s for the Puget Sound, 60s along the coast, and we will get warmer for central Washington.

The Seattle area will have to get through one more hot day on Thursday, but a nice push of marine air will drop temperatures on Friday and this weekend.

A Heat Advisory remains in effect for western Washington through Thursday 5 p.m. for highs in the 80s and 90s.

As the heat intensifies in western Washington, so does the threat of wildfires. The risk is even higher for communities in east King County in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains.
